Haven’t been around much recently. I had to take a step back for a little while. As it stands, my blog is not what I originally envisioned. I really had to change my perspective in order to continue.
So, what has changed?
Haven’t been around much recently. I had to take a step back for a little while. As it stands, my blog is not what I originally envisioned. I really had to change my perspective in order to continue.
So, what has changed?
Didn’t really plan on posting an entry today but I just noticed now this site has over 200,000 total page views!
Thanks for your continued visits and support.
Received an email request for a larger font size when posting comments because the small lettering can be hard to read. I have two options:
Guess which one I’m picking?
I’m actually having problems adding comments to my own blog. After repeatedly submitting them, the comments disappear into some weird blogging “black hole” only to reappear several hours later labeled as spam. My blog considers my comments junk but I’m not taking it personally. Started noticing this phenomenon recently. Seems to be a temporary WordPress.com glitch so I’m not too concerned.
I do apologize if you are experiencing some difficulty posting comments.
Let me know so I can do what I can to help!
In the process of updating the site, I’ve come up with a working (in flux) Mission Statement that I will add to various pages. The blog requires one so that what I’m trying to accomplish here will be clearer.
Spent much of the day making changes to the site that will (hopefully!) make it easier to find stuff. This is my blog (an active experiment). It’s a mixture of personal journal, science-based resource, and support forum. I’m really stretching the definition of a blog (square peg in a round hole and all) but I’m enjoying every minute. Here are today’s changes:
I have polls set up on my “geek with fibroids” web site. If you visit the home page, you’ll find these three questions in the right sidebar:
After voting, you can view the results on the Poll page.
Visit the site, take the online polls, and express your opinions.

How are you using your fibroid voice?
Yes, there’s a Fibroid Forum here! I really want you to visit it more. Why? Two reasons. Well, probably more than that but let’s focus on these two: Read the rest of this entry »
I want to write about a number of things in my blog. Some funny, some spiritual, some serious, some geeky. That’s why I picked the name EclecticGeek. It’s the perfect way to describe me. Even better than the “New-Age Hippie/Bioscience Nerd” or “half-Vulcan/half-human, Spock-like” labels I often attach to my personality. I really do have odd brain clutter and wish to express it.
In the future, you will see a mixture of posts. Some funny, some spiritual, some serious, some geeky. All I ask is that you realize that I have many sides. Just because I am scientific does not mean I am not spiritual. Still don’t understand why some people feel the two are mutually exclusive. Read the rest of this entry »
Today, it’s official. 50,000 visits to this “inquisitive geek with fibroid tumors” blog (old address + new address). Not quite 50,000 individual visitors because some of you keep coming back for more. I’m happy that you do return.
So many geeks with fibroids in the world…
Today, another milestone. Over 100,000 total page views! I know you are all excited about this and wish to know more.
A page view is just that. When you come here and look at a page, it’s counted. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been coming here every single day for a month and reading the same page or if you’re a recent visitor who has only seen a few. It’s all counted and all much appreciated.
Yeah, you keep coming here so…
I guess it turns out that you’re more of a geek than you originally thought, huh? Join the club.
Yesterday, we crossed a milestone. Over 2000 comments! Thanks for continuing to visit here and share your questions, concerns, thoughts, and experiences.
I never thought I would have the opportunity to meet so many from all over the world dealing with uterine fibroids. I’m a little sad that this is what brings us together but feel blessed that we are together to support, encourage, and learn from each other.
Here’s to the next 2000!
