Received an email message from Gwyn who wanted a forum about trying to conceive after an Abdominal Myomectomy. Thanks for the suggestion!
Fibroid free left a detailed comment (one of her “novelettes”) in the “fertility and fibroids” forum a few months ago. Here is an excerpt:
fibroid free: Started with a new GYN – explained my symptons and she said sounds like fibroids and ordered an MRI and recommended me to a OB/GYN RE. Never even thought about a RE (GYN who specializes in Reproductive Endocrinology otherwise know a Fertility Doctor) but ended up to be the best choice of doctor. Went to see her and poured out my want to still have children. She told me about the AM and we scheduled surgery onyl to have her call me and admit she did not have the skill level needed to assure removal of fibroids without a hysto and could not guarentee fertility ( no doctor can guarentee but she was not the one to do the surgery) .. SHE refered me to the FERTILITY DOCTOR. Sigh I thought at first….never expected to be in this position…… and so we set up an appointment.
Doc and I (and hubby) had consoltations about surgery and fertility and how to deal with my fibroids: Here are some facts/discussion points we had -
Fibroids (Uterine leiomyomas/myomas) occur in approximately 25% of women of childbearing age. Much higher for Black women (ie – 40-80%)
The effect of fiborids on pregnancy is well established and their presence is associated with increased risks of spontaneous abortion, preterm delivery, abnormal presentation, placentae problems , pelvic obstruction, postpartum hemorrhage, and sepsis.
However, the impact of fiboirds on a woman’s ability to conceive is less clear, and raises the question of how best to manage infertile patients with fibroids. AGAIN the GREY AREA…

Hi Ladies,
I really about not doing as well as I hoped during this 2ww. I am wondering if every twitch, cramp, bathroom run a sign of pregnancy. I have the digital early detection test but I and today would be the first day that I can do it. I am traveling though and to spear myself the distress I purposefully left the test at home. Hopefully when I get home on Thursday I have some self control.
Celine, I guess how much you should push for the test depends on your age. I think if you are over 35 you should be cautious and get it done. Hopefully if you are adament about it they will see you.
Inshape, thanks for sharing your story especially because it has should a good ending. You hear so much about the things that go wrong and you usually never hear about the happy endings.
Erica, good luck on your IVF. I am trying to see how long I will try on my own before pulling the strigger. Lot’s of baby dust to you!!

Hi Everyone!
Erica and Celine – you are right – I live in the DC area too!!!
Celine – looks like we are in the 2ww together. I am not sure what to think. Prior to the storm, I was told that I had to begin Estrace (which was shortly after my hysteroscopic myo – Feb 1). So I have continued to take the Estrace hoping that it would thicken my lining in case a little bean would like to implant. Well, I am wondering if the Estrace (supplemental estradiol) is keeping my BBT low. Would any of our BBT experts know? I definitely had a thermal shift to confirm ovulation, along with changes in cm. But I have noticed that my luteal phase temps aren’t quite as high as they would be without estrogen supplementation.
Otherwise, no pregnancy symptoms at all. I am expecting AF in about 3 days. I hope that I can wait until next week to test if AF is late!
Daniela, I am so sorry that AF paid you a visit. I certainly know how you feel. The up side is that you can try again this cycle. I am trying not to get my hopes up – but I have to admit it is rather hard. We all go through so much just to get these little beans here – that it is easy to get anxious.
InShape – you are hilarious! Hurricane babies – I guess that would be a good name for them. I would just be happy to get another bfp with a bean that will actually stick!
Lots of baby dust to everyone!

Oops – I meant Chris – we are in the 2ww together.
I meant to say to Celine – that I agree with the other comments regarding your testing.
Oh and Erica – best of luck with IVF! Isn’t it exciting to get those med?! I haven’t gone through IVF, but I used injectables for the IUI that I had and it was pretty exciting to get the meds

Hi Ladies, I had on OB appt and asked about the uterine scar. “No worries” I was told. And as for the NT scan the OB said if I do that test I should also do the amnio. I am 37 and in the higher risk bracket. Thanks for your input by the way. I have an appt for the NT scan next week and then we will see what we will do next.
THe OB said that they will do an amnio at 36wks to check if the babies’ lungs are fully developed; if yes they will take it out the next day…. If no they will wait 1wk and take it out. I was shocked. I figured 2 wks earlier not a whole mth. I wonder if all women that had an ab myo have to do it like this.
April, I am not sure about the Estrace. I think the CM is the best indicator and correlates to the BBT really well, so if you are monitoring all that, you should be fine. I would think if it’s estradiol it would increase the BBT. Let’s see what the others say. And I really hope to see BFP’s from you and Chris and ladies who are also trying! Fingers crossed. It’s almost time to test. How exciting!

Hey ladies,
Well I am trying not to be disappointment but AF showed up today. Actually I started spotting on Wednesday and it was like torture because I wasn’t sure what was going on. I never spotted like that before. Well, DH and I are going to take a long weekend in Miami next week and technically I will be in my 5 day fertile window so let’s see what happens. Especially because Florida is so cold now we me just stay inside the whole time.
Just to be safe I made an appointment with my RE. I was suppose to go as a follow up after my AM anyway. I was just hoping I could get pregnant without any more procedures. But as this point I am willing to do whatever it takes.
Celine, good news on your OB appointment and I would trust your doctor, I am surprised too that they will do your c-section so early but that’s probably the conservative approach.
April, I hope you have better luck than me this month. Lots of baby dust to you.
February 20, 2010 at 1:09 pm
Hi Ladies,
Well Chris – I am in the exact same boat as you – AF showed yesterday. I had AF cramps which started Thursday night and went into Friday morning. They were pretty uncomfortable, but I was still hoping for a bfp. Well, as I left home for work, I could feel that AF was iminent. I got home and found that she visited. This cycle was strange because it looks like it only lasted for a day and a half. I took a hpt this morning and I got a bfn. I realized though that I probably wasn’t going to have a heavy cycle since I had the hysteroscopic myomectomy just three weeks earlier. A little disappointing. I guess we will try again. Next weekend starts my next fertile window too. I will definitely make it to the store today to get the OPK tests.
InShape – I will try this cycle naturally and I think that I need to make an appointment with my RE to start back on the injectables for the cycle after this one.
Celine – great news with you OB appointment. How exciting!
Lots of baby dust to everyone.

Celine,
I just wanted to let you know that I did the NT, and then based on my results we actually were advised that we did not need to proceed with the amnio. I was 39 at the time and very eager to have no amnio done.
I had my c section when DD was 36 weeks (36w 5d) but that was because of the nature of my uterine incisions during AM (they did involve the upper part of uterus and the uterine wall was cut all the way through) and the fact that I had placenta previa. We were originally scheduling the c section for week 38, but the previa complication got us even earlier. I did talk to my RE (who performed my AM) during my pregnancy to determine and confirm what my incisions looked like and make the final decision.
Hope others can chime in too.
Baby dust to you all!

hello girls, it s been a while i haven t posted, but been a bit busy..
Celine, Jo is right. My doctor told me that when i got pregnant he would avoid amnio becouse our uterous is fragile compered to a normal on with no incisions.I guess it just depends on NT results.
April and Chris , i m sorry AF showed up for you too, i know how you feel, it could get very frustrating when you know you tried do hard.Lets hope this will be the month for all of us.
As for me, nothing new, i have the flue and it s my fertile time and i hope the flue does not get in the way with TTC.It s a very stressful time for my hubby too becouse of his job,so i m kind of worried that stress could influence TTC too.
Well fingers crossed for all of us.Hope in 2 weeks we have good news to share. In the mean time thank you for your company
February 25, 2010 at 11:34 am
Jo, thanks for sharing your experience. I am not keen on the amnio either. I don’t think we will do it. But we have to get the blood results first (in one week).
I had the NT done today. Good news: the fold measures 1.3mm (they worry about 3mm and more). Our measurement is low risk for Downs (= great news).Baby looks good, too. Was very active. That was nice.
Bad news: I got a fibroid again. The size is 1inch already. At the last u/s there was no fibroid. It seems like a fast growing one…
I kind of had a feeling they would come back during pregnancy. But so far it is still little and only one. Have to keep an eye on it. Darn fibroids.
Daniela, hope you feel better. And lost of babydust sending your way as well as to Chris and April and Inshape and others who are ttcing. Fingers crossed!!!!

Hi ladies,
So much for the best laid plans. This was supposed to be my get away weekend with DH but because of the snow storm it was a bust. I was already in Florida for work and DH was to meet me but his flight was canceled and I couldn’t get a flight home on Friday. So I am going to ovulate tomorrow so I am on a flight heading home. Wish me luck.
Celine sorry to hear about your fibroids but I know it will be OK.
Daniela feel better soon and lots of baby dust to you!

I have been searching for helpful tip and suggestions about having a baby after myomectomy. I have even turned to acupuncture for two months and still no results. I am really starting to question having the surgery at all. All I do is cry and get so depressed every time I get my cycle. It is so so hard dealing with this especially when all of my friends and family around me are getting pregnant. I am at a loss. Does anyone out there have any suggestions to help? Please.
Thank you.
March 2, 2010 at 11:36 pm
Celine- After my ab myo, my Ob still didn’t want to schedule my c-section any more than a week before my due date (if I remember correctly); it got scheduled for 5 days before. As it turned out, I also had complications and ended up delivering the baby at 34 weeks. It seems very odd that your doctor would want to mess around with your amniotic fluid at 36 weeks. If he/she’s worried about the baby’s lungs, they can give you steroid shots to help them mature. I had that, and at 34 weeks, JJ was breathing fine upon birth.
Chris- Sorry to hear about your Florida trip. I hope you guys caught the egg!
April08- I’m exactly in your boat. Trying naturally right now, and if it doesn’t work, going to the RE. I think I’m in a fertile window right now (just spotted the first EWCM, if that’s not TMI! LOL), so we’ll see how it goes. I’m a little worried about trying this cycle, because it’s run long due to the fact I’m still breastfeeding. It’s already CD41. Gahhh!!
Oh, on the NT+blood work vs. amnio, I also didn’t want an amnio, and when the results of the NT +bw were fine, we didn’t do any amnio either.
Hi tk08! I know how you feel about being busy! I’ve postponed my tax appt 3 times now because I haven’t had time yet to prepare, what with entertaining DS 24/7. He needs a sibling! Or a dog! Or a job! Something!
Hopeful- Hugs to you. Did the doctor who did your ab myo surgery have a plan for getting you pregnant, or was that plan that you would try naturally after you healed? I had really, really hoped to avoid using drugs to get preggo, but in the end, it was the most reliable way, and did work (on attempt #3, so don’t get too depressed if it doesn’t work right away either). I also tried acupuncture, but it didn’t do much for me either, so my advice on that is ’save your money’. Things that helped me include: BBT Charting. If you don’t know how to do this, learn at fertilityfriend.com or ovusoft. It helped me pinpoint exactly what was happening when in my cycle. Getting fit probably helped. I lost 12lbs, and got leaner and stronger at the gym. Finding a good RE. He did my ab myo surgery, and knew what procedure I ought to do and what I didn’t need. Participating in a TTC forum. This thread is great for women who’ve had fibroids, but it was a wonderful education to be part of a thread of women who all did injectible fertility drugs like I did, because we could compare the reactions we each got from taking different amounts of the drugs and typically whether people would get pregnant depending on how many eggs they’d made.
Anyhow, I’m babbling. I hope you get pregnant soon, because it can seem like forever when you’re in that ‘waiting for it to happen’ stage.
March 5, 2010 at 11:32 pm
Hi InShape,
can you pass the info about the site you mention? and what kind of drugs did you take and how did you reach that point? i have not seen a fertility doctor, and I think my OBGYN was kind of pointing I should see one after having the lapa/hysteroscopic myo, but I’m not sure I want to have IVF. Is there anything to be done before getting to IVF, if all the blood tests the doctors usually do indicate no fertility problems?
Thanks!
March 6, 2010 at 11:37 pm
Hi Beti,
The three sites I mentioned were: http://www.ovusoft.com , http://www.fertilityfriend.com , and http://www.soulcyster.net . The last one is the forum- it’s for people with polycystic ovaries, but has sub-threads for people trying to get pregnant (TTC) by all kinds of methods.
After running all the tests doctors do, you may find that there’s no problem they can find. This was the case with me, but to hurry things along, I took gonal-F to make more eggs than usual, and we did IUI (intra-uterine insemination). This is where they take the man’s sperm, wash them, put them through a ’swim up’ maze challenge, and the best ones get placed high up in the uterus, near the fallopian tubes. There are even easier things than this to get pregnant, such as taking clomid, as well as combinations of things. IVF is usually the last resort, when simpler things won’t work or haven’t worked.
March 6, 2010 at 11:38 pm
Ooops- I just checked, and it’s http://www.soulcysters.net (with an ’s’).
March 5, 2010 at 1:28 am
hopeful,
I think InShape had great suggestions for you! I just wanted to add that I would say trying to get yourself out of the “crying and depressed” mode and getting as positive about the whole thing as you can get would be my suggestion. It would really come down to figuring out what makes you happy and focusing on that for a while.
I have had some disappointments after my AM (adhesions, tubes still blocked and new fibroids, ugh) but instead of giving up I decided to switch gears for a little while and instead of focusing on ttc just take a break and go do something completely different. Started training hard and went for a gruelling hike down into Grand Canyon, a week in complete wilderness. We did not ttc when we were preparing for the journey, but still I was there and DD was with us already, I was about 5 weeks pregnant and I did not know it! Turns out I ovulated very early and we conceived her on CD7. I do believe that all that physical exercise and the joy of the upcoming journey acted as a stress reliever and helped make our miracle. We were about to go IVF when we got back from GC, and my RE was giving me slim chances (but he did say he couldn’t rule out a miracle haha, and we laughed about it when he was doing our first u/s at week 7)
So I know it’s easier said then done, but do try to relax and do something you love!
March 5, 2010 at 1:45 pm
Celine, i had an amnio early on to check for Downs, but nothing that late in my pregnancy. We had an u/s a week or so before. My csection was scheduled about a week before also. I had three small fibroids but they grew very little an caused now problems thankfully.
Hopeful,
i agree with Jo. You have to let go. Find a way to find peace within yourself. In reality if you are doing all the things right you just have to put it in god’s hands and live life. I actually just let go and found out i was pregnant the next week. I was amazed as I was 43!
DS is now 4 mths. Breastfeeding is going great and he is healthy and strong. Such a joy. I find it a treasure just watching him nurse and also seeing him grow.
Baby dust and hugs,
Brandy

Hi girls, how is everyone?
I ve been quite busy lately ,at least i keep my mind occupied on my two week wait. This month i think i ovulated early so i don t know if i missed the right time.I usually ovulate on CD 17 or 18 but my BBT chart sayd i did on day 14 and i didn t get no positive OPK at all.I start using them on day 14 becouse of my long cycle but this time i didn t get a positive and my BBT is up.Maby after Am my hormones are getting better and i ll have a 28 day cycle instead of 33-
Well bad news is that i found a lump in my breast and i m soo scared.I have an appointment on the 16th for a mammogram and a sonogram.Hope it s nothing.I have a friend that had fybroids removed from her breast,so i m wondering if maby now that i had mine in uterous removed they might grow in my breast for a change of hormone.I don t know if it could make sence.I just hope it s nothing else, i m just so tired of all the stress i ve been through this last year.
Celine how are you feeling?what week are u at now with pregnancy?
Well you all have a good week end.Hope to have more positive pregnancy test on here

March 7, 2010 at 11:16 am
Daniela,
I had a small fibroadenoma removed from my left breast one year before I found out I had fibroids (and got them removed by lapa and hysteroscopic myo). I read somewhere there is no relationship between the uterine and the breast fibroids, but the fact we can get both makes me think how much our life style and eating style influence the formation of fibroids.
March 6, 2010 at 5:31 pm
Hi Ladies,
I’m new to this website and was hoping I could get some opinions or feedback from those who have had myomectomy surgeries and are also ttc like me. I had my myo on January 8th so i’m about 12 weeks post op now. I had a pretty good recovery, however, it was painful and uncomfortable. My period was due the day of the surgery so my bleeding was pretty heavy and lasted about 5 days. I was also really constipated and had a lot of gas pains. Anyway, my second period was also pretty heavy for about two days with little clots. I’m now on my third cycle since the surgery and the bleeding is much heavier like every four hours i have a rush of blood and lots of clots. I thought the bleeding was suppose to subside at some point in time. If you had the surgery can you tell me when your bleeding got lighter? This is somewhat peculiar for me because I wasn’t really have horribly heavy periods before the surgery. My period last between 3 to 4 days with maybe one day of heavy bleeding. Now it’s two days of very heavy bleeding with clots but it only last 5 days at the most. Plus, I stopped having menstrual cramps in my early twenties but since the surgery they are back in full force at least a day before my cycle.
Also, my husband and I are trying to conceive. I know i o’d the first period after the surgery because I felt the surge. Well this month I don’t think I o’d at all
I called my doctor about the bleeding and now he wants to do an ultrasound. I hate those things bcuz you have to drink all that water before the appointment and I have a weak bladder and then you get there and they make you wait when all i want to do is pee. Anyway, I’ve heard some women talk about having an HSG test to check the uterus. What is an HSG test and what does it entail? I’d like to ask my doctor to order that instead. Is it painful?
MG
March 7, 2010 at 11:26 am
MG,
Like you, I did not really have heavy periods before the surgery, but the pain was horrible. my surgery was around ovulation time, so 1st period was relatively normal, into moderately heavy. The second was quite heavy, for around 8-9 days, the third was just 1 day heavy and quite short, but with clots. You had your surgery around your period, so I wouldn’t count that as a first period. Other people here have commented they have bad periods for at least 3 cycles. I’m not sure when ovulation goes back to normal, I think mine is back to normal in my third cycle.
Regarding HSG, do you know what it is? you should read about it. I had it done as part of the fertility tests, my experience was not good because the contrast liquid they inject in the uterus to be able to take the X-rays ends up spilling into the peritoneal cavity, that caused me a very bad irritation. The US (the intravaginal and the one you have to drink a lot of fluid) were a piece of cake compared to the HSG. HSG gives good information, although I think MRI is the one that provided the best info overall, it is just difficult for the doctors to justify an MRI if they haven’t done the ultrasound first. Let me know if you want more info about the HSG.
March 9, 2010 at 11:35 am
MG, my period took probably 4 months to settle down to more normal like. I think the healing is different with every one’s body. Also I would say my periods were not exactly like they used to be before the myo, but I had two large fibroids removed.
JO, TK08, Inshape and others,
Anyone feel absolutely inseperable with your baby? DS is 4 mths and I do not want to be parted from him, I feel complete when I am with him, and anxious when we are apart. This is hard enough because I have to work during the day. Hubby doesn’t mind but of course other friends, etc are pushing me. I guess this is called attachement parenting? Also – my period has returned. How long did yours stay away? We do give DS pacifiers.
Good luck to all TTC,
Brandy
March 9, 2010 at 4:52 pm
Brandy and Beti thanks for your response back. I guess what i’m going through is normal. My cycle only lasted four days so i guess that’s not too bad. Anyway, I will be going for the ultrasound tomorrow to see if everything working.
MG
March 9, 2010 at 6:14 pm
Brandy- It’s so cute to see you as a mom now. I’m so glad this long path to motherhood worked out for you! As for not wanting to leave your baby, I was exactly the same way. Once, I went shopping without him, but by about 4 hours in, I started to miss his little face.
Then, about 6 weeks ago, I hit a wall and needed a break, so he had his first babysitting experience, and DH and I saw Avatar (yay!). I do wish we had family closer and could get some relief, even once a week. I’m trying to prepare for tax filing now, and a few other things, and it’s extremely hard with a paper-eating crawler at my feet all day.
Also a tip: Babies get clingier, supposedly peaking at 18 months (so I read), so now might be a good time to sneak away.
MG- I’m glad you’re going for an ultrasound. I didn’t want to start guessing how things are with you, so hopefully that will answer your questions. My surgery was timed so that I wouldn’t have a lot of menstrual tissue built up; I’m intrigued that some of you other women have had the surgery at other times in your cycles.
Daniela- I hope the lump is nothing serious! I had breast cysts diagnosed long ago. They aren’t serious, so I hope this is the kind of thing you’ve got.
Jo, April08, tk08, hopeful, Chris, Celine, etc… ‘Hi!’
No news with me. I’m waiting for my next ovulation or period so we can TTC. I’m also worried about what kind of egg might pop out, as it’s already CD50-something or more (ack!). Some women on my other web group had successful pregnancies with late O’s, but I’m just worried about gene problems or miscarrying, etc. Although I do know of a few women to get pregnant right after being pregnant such that they never had AF, so who knows? I do know that it’s breastfeeding that’s keeping this period at bay. I’m trying to slow down, but Mr. Hungry’s not letting me.
March 12, 2010 at 1:25 pm
Daniela, that’s scary news. I am sorry you have to worry. I have a friend who had a lump in her breast and she had it removed. They went in w/ a needle and extracted it. She said there was a tiny drop of blood and it was over in no time. Didn’t hurt and the lump was non-cancerous. I hope it will go as well for you, too. Thinking of you!!!
MG, my cycle was opposite from yours. Really heavy pre-op and then ultra-light post-op. I think everyone is different and it does take 3-4 mths to get back into a regular cycle.
Girls, I had a huge scare. I am 3mths3wks now and everything has been good so far. Yesterday I felt my uterus really close to my vayayay (TMI- sorrry), called the OB and they got me in right away. The Dr said my uterus is dropping and wanted me to see a high risk specialist right away and go on bedrest (I was so upset and thought the worse- you know…). This morning we went to the high risk Dr and the Dr assured us that my uterus should move back up to its normal position and there is no risk of m/c from this “lazy” uterus. My ligaments aren’t holding it in place and he predicts I have to have surgery after the baby is here. :_(
But we saw the baby and heard the hb. SHE is fine.
We found out the sex from that u/s. I am so relieved it went well and everything should be ok. I am telling you girls this road of ttc and pregnancy is not easy. I envy women who can conceive easily and have an easy pregnancy.
I hope you are all doing well. You really are my sisters since you seem to be the only ones that understand the pain we all have to go through. Not an easy road. I am thankful that you are here to listen and give support.
March 13, 2010 at 1:23 am
Celine,
I’m sorry about your scare. I’m glad to hear your baby is o.k. and her little heart is just beating away. Hopefully, you won’t have to be on bed rest.
Just out of curiosity, how long did it take for you to get pregnant after the myo? I’m two and a half months post-op and the waiting is killing me. O.k. don’t laugh but I was hoping to be pregnant right after the surgery. My doctor gave me the o.k. to ttc right after valentine’s day.
MG
March 14, 2010 at 7:30 am
MG, my Dr asked me to wait 6mths to a yr before trying. We waited the 6mths and the first mth trying we got a BFP (to our surprise- we were told it would take probably a yr of trying). I was nervous to get pregnant b/c the uterus started to expand and there was pulling on my scar. My thoughts are if you don’t get pregnant right away it gives your body/uterus an extra mth to heal and an even better environment for the baby. But I know how eager I was to become pregos so I totally understand the frustration when aunt flow shows up.
March 13, 2010 at 12:28 pm
Celine- Hugs! How scary! Congrats on finding out the sex, and that the baby is OK. Scares during pregnancy are awful- mine happened at about 14 weeks (a bit of bleeding from a stupidly-timed, highly unnecessary PAP smear). Glad to hear there’s no risk of m/c and that the uterus will move back up. Interesting that you actually felt it move down.. I can’t imagine what that feels like.
MG- I wanted to get pregnant as soon as possible too. Feels like forever when a cycle doesn’t work out. Hang in there!
March 13, 2010 at 1:33 pm
Celine, i can t imagine the scare you went thrue, but i m soo happy all is well.Just take it easy and relax. How lovely you are having a baby girl.I bet i t s so exiting to know.I didn t think you where already past 3 months.Time is flying.
AS for me, first of all thank you so much for all the nice words you have for me.i have a mammogram and sonogram on tuesday and i m getting nervous. In the mean time AF started on Thursday so i m a bit dissapointed again.I hope i get pregnant soon couse i m so scared of more fybroyds growing.
MG, IN SHAPE, JO,BRANDY and all of you have a great week end.
March 14, 2010 at 7:38 am
I am still on bedrest (or I should say I try to be – it’s so hard not to do anything). The uterus retreated a little bit but it’s still so close to the “opening” and when I move around too much it goes back down. They told me definitely come back when things start to dangle outside (Yikes!). I don’t want it to get to that point. I rather do the bedrest. I wonder if it is b/c they took the uterus out of my body during the ab myo and stretched the ligaments that way? They had no explanation why this was happening. Maybe they can fix my uterus when they do the C-section. That would be ideal.
It is amazing how many people have seen my private area in the last yr. I feel like I am constantly on exhibit.

Wow! I am gone for a little bit and so much happens.
Celine -I am so sorry that your uterus is falling. That must be terrifying. Please try to remain on bedrest as much as possible. Did they give you any exercises that can help strengthen those ligaments?
MG – we were cleared to start trying 3 months post myo. I was sure that we would get pregnant right away as it only took us 3 months to conceive the daughter we lost due to the fibroids… boy was I wrong! I am now about 1 year post myo. I have done three medicated IUIs and one Hysteroscopy to remove scar tissue from the ab myo and am now doing my first cycle of IVF (really want to be pregnant before the fibroids come back since we now know that they have the tendency to triple in size during pregnancy for me and cause preterm labor). We had 19 eggs retrieved and currently have 9 embryos that made it to blast…. On my way to have one transfered in about an hour. Also -no sign of return fibroids yet and the RE does a million Ultrasounds a cycle so do not panic about that either.
Try not to stress about TTC. There are always ways to speed the process along so just try to relax and have fun with it
Daniela – I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that the lump is nothing. Life sure doesn’t seem fair sometimes, right? one person should not have to go through this much stress. Know you have people that are praying for you. Please let us know
Hope everyone else is doing well. Please keep fingers crossed for me.
